It’s Mid-April and the weather is starting to change here in the northeast section of the US and we are ready to get outside and start grilling and smoking our foods. If you looking for a good side dish to go with whatever your smoking, Why not make some Delicious Smoked Baked Beans? You have the smoker going anyway, and for a great side dish I like to make some delicious smoked baked beans. Its pretty simple.
What you’ll Need
- 1- can Bush’s Baked Beans ( I used Bush’s Boston Recipe)
- 2 -tbsp honey
- 2-tbsp maple syrup
- 2-tbsp BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp spicy mustard
- 4-5 strips of cooked bacon
In an aluminum pan (I use a disposable one), combine a can of baked beans, some honey, some maple syrup, some BBQ sauce, a little spicy mustard, and some chopped up bacon. I smoke it for 2-3 hours at 225 or whatever temperature your smoking the rest of your food, just time it so it will be done about the same time. I also stir the beans whenever I have to open the smoker to take care of whatever else I am cooking.
Remember: whenever your smoking foods, If You‘re Lookin‘ You Ain’t Cookin‘ So limit the number of times you open that smoker, especially on a cool or cold day.
