Will the Amazon Echo Auto be a disappointment or a success?

Amazon’s Echo release is right around the corner, but will the echo auto be a disappointment or a success?  According to David Zats over a ZatsNotFunny.com, the first round of Echo Auto started shipping a few days ago as the 1st wave of invitees are receiving their devices.  Unfortunately I was not chosen to be in this first round, so for the immediate future I have to live vicariously through the invitees.

I am looking forward to getting my hands on one fir first hand testing.  This is not the first item like this on the market, there are other 3rd party devices like the roav viva, but surely there must be an advantage to an Amazon device, or is there?  There does seem to be a downside already, according to Tod Kuntzelman you need to have your radio set to the proper source, the device can not change the radio source.  So if this device does not have any speakers, it sounds like you have to change your radio source to interact with it.

This is different then say my cell phone because my truck automatically switches to bluetooth when I get a call or ask siri something.   Even if I ask Siri to play a song, my truck’s radio changes to the bluetooth source.  If this is the case, it might be a show stopper.  I am sure this is version 1.0 of the software, hopefully they will fix this with a software update and take this from a disappointment to a success
