SmartThings Hub Connecting WEMO Light Switches
To add your WEMO Light switches to your SmartThings Hub,
- Open the SmartThings app
- Click the “+” in the upper right hand corner and choose “Add a Thing”
- Choose the type of device. In my case I chose Lights and Switches – > Switches & Dimmers ->Belkin -> Belkin WEMO Light switch -> Connect Now
Once you have done that, you can create rooms in the SmartThings app and then place the devices into the appropriate rooms.

I am having an issue with my WEMO switches constantly dropping off my network. Every 10 min or so it seems as though the amber light flashed again, goes green, then off. Then 10 Min later is starts all over.. I have been searching forums and emailed Belkin, but haven’t fixed it yet…

Check the IP address that is being assigned to the WEMO. In my case I believe the WEMO was having an IP conflict. My router was assigning an ip of 192.168.1.6, so I set my router to assign a static IP of a higher IP like 192.168.1.180 and all has been ok after that. I still haven’t tracked down why 192.168.1.6 is an issue on my network, but it’s been fine since I did this.

Thanks that worked. I don’t know if I am having a conflict or not, but I did set my router to assign it a static IP and have not had a problem yet.
