Chainsaw Protection

So with all the chainsawing I have to do because of all the storms this past winter, I decided I better invest in some chainsaw protection.

Kevlar Gloves

I bought the Youngstown Glove 05-3080-70-XL General Utility lined with KEVLAR Glove XLarge, Gray gloves for protection when using my chainsaw..  They are very comfortable, and the sizing chart on the amazon site was right on the money..  If you use a chainsaw, don’t skimp on protection or you may wind up loosing a finger or two if the saw kicks back for some reason.

The gloves were $26.41 and prime eligible.

The next item for protection were chaps.  Yep Chaps.

Chainsaw Chaps

It may sound like overkill, but you want to

protect the inside of your legs. (you have an artery there ya know..).  So I bought the Husqvarna 531309565 Chain Saw Apron Chaps, Blue.  They were $51.99 and also prime eligible.  They were easy to put on and it is a one size fits most..  I have a 40″ waist and there is still plenty of room in the waist strap.

The third item I have for protection is a hard hat with built in ear protection like the Husqvarna 577764601 Pro Forest Helmet System with Visor/Hearing Protection. Its $49.65 and is also prime eligible. This helmet will protect your ears from the loud noise of the chainsaw, plus your face and head from branches hitting you.

I know the weekend warrior in you is probably thinking, I don’t need all this, I will be fine.  Well one slip without the proper protection and you would be sorry.
